About Us
How did we get here...?
While visiting family in Uganda during September/October 2023, we were deeply moved by the hardships faced by numerous families in the area due to poverty and its consequent challenges. The impact of the pandemic had further exacerbated the circumstances, leaving some of them hopeless and struggling to meet their basic needs, including food, medicine, and education.
Upon sharing the situation with our friends, they expressed a strong desire to lend a hand, which led to the inception of the initiative called Send a Goat.
Donated goats are kept on the family farm in Uganda and specifically used for breeding purposes. The well-being of the goats is crucial for the sustainability of the project, so we ensure they are properly taken care of in a clean and safe environment where they receive vaccinations and treatments to maintain their health.
When new goats are born, they are given to vulnerable families in the local community with the condition that those goats are also kept for breeding, which ultimately helps the family improve their own resources and livelihoods.
Will I see my goat?
When you donate, you will receive a letter and a certificate from us. Within around 4 weeks, your goat will be delivered to the farm and once it arrives, a photo will be taken and sent to you. When kids are allocated to a local family, we will also send an update.
